The Alta Park Board consists of five members elected by general election for staggering six-year terms. The Board uses funds appropriated by the City Council for use in maintaining and managing the city parks, shelter house, swimming pool, and ball fields. The Board has the power to make rules and regulations for the use of the city parks and to conduct recreational programs.
