Tree Planting Event

April 30, 2026
The City of Alta will be having a Tree Planting Event on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 12:30 pm, and YOU are invited to help!
If you would like to help plant, stake, and water the trees, please meet at City Hall at 12:15 pm on Thursday, May 7. (Don’t worry, we will dig the holes ahead of time! No manual digging required!)
Thanks to a grant from Alliant Energy’s Community Tree Planting Program, sponsored by Alliant Energy in conjunction with Trees Forever, we will be working with the Alta-Aurelia FFA to plant 19 trees in the city right-of-way.
The trees will be planted in the right-of-way to provide shade for homes. The program is designed to encourage energy efficiency, environmental awareness, and community stewardship. This is the third consecutive year that Alta has been awarded this grant to rebuild our community’s tree canopy, improving species diversity, enhancing natural beauty, and improving quality of life and energy efficiency for residents.
This image is a poster for the tree planting event. It has 4 pictures of teenagers working together to plant trees at last year's event. In includes the details for the event as detailed in the post. It includes logos for Alliant Energy and Trees Forever.
