School Board Will Discuss Moving Football and Track Contests
The Alta-Aurelia School Board will meet tonight, Monday, April 13th, at 6:00pm in Room 19 at the Alta-Aurelia High School.
On the agenda is a Facilities Discussion.
The school is strongly considering moving football and track contests to the Aurelia facility. This move is a break from the long-standing collaboration between the city and the school, and it comes with little communication between the school and city.
The City and School entered into a lease agreement in 1962 for the school to use the track and football field facilities for contests. This agreement has been modified several times in 63 years to meet the needs of the city and the school, demonstrating great collaboration between the entities. The school is no longer interested in that collaboration.
This meeting is open to the public. The city encourages residents who would like their voices heard to attend the meeting.
