City of Alta Unveils New Official Logo Designed by Local Student

Alta, Iowa – The City of Alta is proud to announce the adoption of its new official logo, created through a partnership with Alta Hometown Pride and local student designer Bianca Alvarado.

The City entrusted Alta Hometown Pride with leading the development of a new logo to represent Alta’s identity in future marketing, communication, and signage. The committee partnered with Bianca Alvarado, an Alta-Aurelia student and Key Club member with a passion for graphic design. Drawing inspiration from Alta’s history and the community slogan, “Catch the Energy,” Bianca created a design that reflects both the city’s past and forward momentum.

Alta is a community of just over 2,000 residents with deep roots dating back to its founding along the Chicago-Illinois Railroad in 1878, as the highest point on the railroad in Iowa. The City is situated on Buffalo Ridge, a unique geographical divide between the Mississippi and Missouri River watersheds. Known for its elevation and steady winds, Alta has embraced wind energy as part of its landscape and economy.

The resulting logo highlights these unique characteristics through a clean, modern, and highly adaptable design suitable for use across signage, stationery, digital platforms, and broader branding efforts. The Alta City Council officially adopted the logo following a presentation by Alta Hometown Pride.

“This project highlights the talent within our own community and the power of local partnerships,” said Pam Henderson, Co-Chair of Alta Hometown Pride and current City Council member. “We are proud to work with Bianca and excited to see this logo represent Alta for years to come.”

Alta Hometown Pride continues to lead initiatives focused on enhancing amenities, building civic pride and leadership, and strengthening economic vitality through partnerships. The next phase includes development of new community welcome signage, with partnerships currently underway.

The City of Alta and Alta Hometown Pride extend their appreciation to Bianca Alvarado for her creativity and dedication. The new logo will soon be visible throughout the community, bringing a fresh and vibrant identity to Alta’s future.
