Winter Parking

There was some snow flying this morning!

Please be aware of Winter Parking Procedures in the City of Alta.

The City of Alta will be using a “SNOW EMERGENCY” system to keep our streets safe and clear of snow this winter. During a SNOW EMERGENCY, no overnight parking is allowed on city streets.

This is the ONLY time that overnight parking is not allowed.

If parked overnight on city streets during a snow emergency, the City of Alta will rely on our partnership with the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office to enforce violations. Your car may be ticketed and/or towed.

Your cooperation is needed! Please stay informed and refrain from parking on the street when a snow emergency is issued. A Snow Emergency will be announced via Textcaster, this Facebook page, the digital sign at the Community Building, and KAYL/KKIA weather announcements (www.stormlakeradio.com).
